Nick + Hannah

These two are best friends - best friends in the "my world can be set right by your presence" kind of way.  Wedding photography is a unique opportunity to see love, connection, and chemistry on display. Photographing Nick and Hannah's wedding was no exception.

Summer lingered as clouds intermittently diffused and revealed sunshine on the bright September wedding day of these high-school sweethearts. Hair and makeup started early for the ladies who slumbered at a local vacation home.  The firepit aside the picturesque pond laid dormant after cheer and celebration surrounded it the previous evening. Dear friends of the bride moved about in pink silk pajamas readying themselves.  Friends and family came and went offering various beautifying services and miscellaneous assistance. Mothers of both the bride and groom sat for expertly coiffed hair. The bride, in white silk pajamas, sat in the light of an open front door as her friend, a cosmetologist, accentuated her natural beauty with various powders and potions.  The result was stunning.

As the day progressed, the ladies dined in preparation for getting into their dresses. Blush pink frocks on custom wooden hangers hung in anticipation, a pure white satin number gleaming in the middle. One by one, dresses were donned, the white one in secret in order to carry out a bridesmaid reveal.  With assistance from her mother, the bride completed her look with diamond stud earrings, a dainty silver chain necklace with a diamond pendant, a pearl beaded wrap bracelet, and, of course, her round-cut diamond engagement ring.

The men of the hour readied themselves one town over at the home of a cousin of the groom. Custom coolers were gifted, bow ties were tied, boutonnieres were pinned. Both a boutonniere and an tender kiss were affixed to the groom by an adoring mother.

With the gentlemen arriving at the ladies location, a careful effort ensued to ensure beautifully choreographed first looks.  The bride's father, step-father, and bridesmaids were all moved with emotion at the sight of their darling. No one, however, was more moved than her soon to be husband. As the couple shared their private first look, their vows, their tears, their tissues, it was clear, as they prepared to make it official, that they already had one another's hearts.

On the north lawn of the Bethel German Colony Barn, the tender couple went on to pledge their love, loyalty, and support to one another till death, and may it be a long way off, parts them. Row after row of white chairs were populated with friends and family gathered to witness and celebrate their union.  A kiss, a pair of hands held triumphantly in the air, a dip with another kiss midway down the aisle, and two very happy people exiting concluded the ceremony.

In celebration, dinner, toasts, and dancing commenced in the Colony Barn adjacent to the ceremony space.

Nick and Hannah, thank you for the honor of photographing your special day. As someone who is relatively new to wedding photography, I feel so very blessed that you took a chance on me! May your marriage only prosper and grow as the years go by.

Love, Angela
